Dr. Kendall Valentine is an ecogeomorphologist who studies how bio-physical interactions and global change affect coastal landscape evolution. Her work uses multiple approaches including numerical modeling and field experiments to understand the changing coast, with a particular focus on marshes and mudflats. Dr. Valentine loves getting muddy at field sites along the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts and enjoys an occasional run-in with dolphins, gators, and racoons. Currently, Dr. Valentine is a postdoctoral researcher at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Prior to her work at VIMS, she earned a PhD in Oceanography and Coastal Sciences from Louisiana State University and a Masters in Geology and Geophysics from Boston College.
