Tabitha Wechter.

Tabitha Wechter, MS ’25 (Sustainability Leadership), now serves as director of the Buffalo and Erie County Lead Safe Task Force with the Partnership for the Public Good (PPG). In this leadership role, Wechter collaborates with a wide network of stakeholders to end the crisis of lead poisoning in our region. Through a strategic mix of education, advocacy and policy change, the Task Force works tirelessly to remediate the systemic dangers of lead pollution.

Wechter is dedicated to developing creative solutions rooted in environmental justice, ensuring that all Buffalonians can thrive within both their built and natural landscapes. Her leadership reflects the department’s commitment to preparing graduates who create essential, community-centered work right here in our own backyard.
