Students wishing to receive full consideration for financial support from the Department of Geology (departmental scholarships, Teaching Assistantships, and Research Assistantships) are advised to submit their online application (including recommendation letters) by December 15 for the following fall semester and November 1 for the following spring semester.
Applications submitted after these deadlines are reviewed on a rolling basis. Please contact us if you have special circumstances. Applications received at any time are considered for financial support if funds are available.
For exceptional PhD applicants wishing to be considered for the UB Presidential Fellowship, application submission by December 1 is strongly recommended.
We are welcoming applications for the new MS in Computational Earth Science! It is taking a little longer to set up the online application, so if the system does not allow you to choose between the thesis and non-thesis track or upload the necessary documents listed below, please choose the Geological Science MS or the Geological Science MS Non-Thesis. In addition, indicate at the top of your Personal Statement “I wish to be considered for the MS in Computational Earth Science Program".
With questions about the graduate application process, please contact Sharon Hassett, Graduate Secretary.
