Asiyah Noujdi's research focuses on the way that contemporary media representations of marginalized peoples, with a focus on trans women, affects societal depictions and attitudes towards marginalized peoples within the contemporary media and socio-cultural landscape.
She is interested in the ways that the media apparatus performs power in order to aid in its ongoing narrative of casting certain groups into the role of the Monstrous Other within the contemporary United States. Originally from Minneapolis Minnesota Asiyah received a BA in both English and French from the University of Minnesota-Morris.
