BA in Psychology, UB;
PhD student, Neuroscience
As a Psychology major at UB, one of my favorite things was the variety of courses available to me. I was able to explore different areas of the field and figure out what I was passionate about, which ended up being neuroscience.
Another highlight of my time in the program was the opportunity to work in research. Having access to a wide range of research labs offered practical, hands-on experience with amazing technologies, such as EEG and fMRI. These diverse experiences helped me gain a better understanding of the field, solidified my research interests, and set me up perfectly to pursue my PhD in Neuroscience.
These are just a few of the amazing things that I experienced as an undergraduate psychology major at UB. It's all going to come down to the individual student and their goals, but my advice is to take advantage of any and all opportunities to specialize and dive into the topics that interest you the most.
