Misty Harris, PhD, is a Teaching Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University at Buffalo program at the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM). Broadly, her research examines the relationships between social inequalities and health, with a focus on spatial health inequalities. She is concerned with place as a spatial or geographical location, as well as a social position. She is also interested in a critical examination of the concept of health, and more generally in rural health and education, medicalization, and stigma and health.
