Racial Attitudes; Racial Identity; Second-Class Citizenship; Social Psychology; W.E.B. Du Bois
Quintin Gorman, Jr. is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Sociology and Criminology. As a sociological social psychologist, he is interested in how Blacks experience second-class citizenship in the United States. His current research examines multiple topics, including the sociopolitical implications of Blacks’ belief in the significance of systemic racism, how they experience Du Boisian double consciousness, and how institutions, like the U.S. military, constrain their racial attitudes and identity.
