Eligibility: Open to all visual artists in all media. Entries must have been completed within the last five years.
Process for Selection: Artists will be selected from online submissions by a faculty/staff committee. One artist will be awarded with a solo gallery exhibition (or two artists for a duo exhibition, if the Committee proposes a combination to two applying artists, who consent to the pairing). The exhibition will be in the Department’s Lower Gallery at the Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, North Campus.
Media Specifications: Artists creating original works of art in any media are encouraged to apply. If awarded, artwork must be suitable for installation. Two dimensional works must be ready to hang with the appropriate attached hardware. Three-dimensional works must have a base that can be rolled or composed of elements that can be easily moved. Digital and non-traditional media will be considered.
Entry Fee: There is no entry fee.

Delivery of Work: If awarded, artwork may be hand-delivered or shipped prepaid to the Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo. Approximately $750 will be provided to the accepted artist for shipping and/or travel to Buffalo, based on the artist’s discretion and in discussion with the Department. Reimbursement paperwork will need to be submitted by the artist.
Services: The exhibition will have labels, a poster, exhibition pamphlet, an email blast, social media coverage (Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube) and possibly an opportunity for an artist talk. The awarded artist(s) will collaborate with the Art Resource Manager to finalize an artworks list and plan curation.
Applications will only be reviewed if submitted via the Form link in the Call, with all the entry requirements collated in a single PDF.
Applications will be reviewed by the Gallery Commitee, and notifications will be sent by Friday, March 14, 2025.
