An undergraduate degree is many things: It's a statement of ambition. It's evidence of your ability to think beyond the present moment. It's a promise to yourself that you will persevere, no matter the challenges, until you reach or exceed your goals.

At the College of Arts and Sciences, we teach our undergraduate students to think critically, speak persuasively, act empathetically and adapt effortlessly – the key skills required to become leaders in their local and global communities. Our students' goals are our goals, and in return for their continued effort, we commit to providing them with the faculty, resources and support necessary to succeed in their field.

By choosing to pursue an undergraduate degree, you've undertaken an immense and important task. Thank you for sharing your talents, energy and initiative with the College of Arts and Sciences at UB.

Notes from Dean Schulze

My undergraduate education gave me all the skills I needed to believe in myself and chart a new course.

Not sure where to start?

Many undergraduate students enter UB unsure of where they'd like to major. Other students have a clear idea when they begin, but soon figure out what they've chosen isn't for them. The College of Arts and Sciences wants to help all UB students find the perfect fit.
