About

Sally Abell has been in the financial services industry since 1984. She joined Merrill Lynch in 2006.  As a portfolio manager Sally custom manages portfolios for high net worth individuals and their families to generate cash flow and increase client wealth.

Sally helps clients determine long term financial goals. Then she implements customized investment strategies, such as a sound retirement income strategy or a covered call writing strategy.

Another area of focus is people in transition. This can be due to loss of a spouse, retirement, divorce, marriage, inheritance, sale of a business or any situation that can potentially impact their current life style. Because we work with our clients over many years we help our clients financially as they grapple with change in various aspects of their lives over time.

Sally is a Portfolio Manager, Merrill Lynch Personal Investment Advisory (PIA) Program. With this strategy she can make timely adjustments to a client’s portfolio as markets and client circumstances change, if the client chooses to give her that discretionary option.

Sally has much experience teaching about investments. She has educated women in investment clubs, taught investment community education classes, and informally tutored trainees studying for their Series 7 license.

Sally is a 1981 graduate of State University of New York at Buffalo, with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. She worked as an International Field Engineer in Power Generation for a subsidiary of General Electric. She earned the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) in 1996. She is a co-founder and former president of The CFA Society of Buffalo.

Sally Abell holds Series 7 and Series 65 licenses.

In addition to investments Sally enjoys tennis, singing, bicycling and travel. She has studied in Denmark, worked in Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Norway and traveled to China, The Middle East and South and Central America.
