Prof. Anas presented with the 2016 Walter Isard Award

On November 12, 2016 in Minneapolis, Minn., while in attendance at the annual meetings of the Urban Economics Association held each year within the annual meetings of the North American Regional Science Association, Prof. Alex Anas was presented with the 2016 Walter Isard Award “in recognition of distinguished scholarly achievements in the field of Regional Science.”

This award is named in honor of Professor Walter Isard, father of Regional Science, founder of the Regional Science Association, and a leading scholar in the worldwide Regional Science community. Established in 1994, the award pays tribute to regional scientists who have made significant theoretical and methodological contributions to the field of Regional Science throughout their careers.
