Staff Spotlight - Taya Myree

Taya Myree is part of the amazing staff team that supports the Department of Economics.  As Office Assistant, Taya helps students enroll in courses, provides administrative support to faculty, and is available to answer any questions that you might have!  You can find her on the fourth floor in the main office helping to ensure that everything is working as it should!

What was your undergraduate major, and why did you choose it?

TM: Business with a concentration in management. I chose it because I felt as if the degree could be transferable to many different careers, so I have choices.

What was your favorite class and why?

TM: My favorite class was Anthropology 101. Learning about the different species of humans and the evolution theory was very interesting and fun to learn about.

What is your favorite little-known fact about the Department of Economics?

TM: My favorite little-known fact about the Department of Economics is that we like to hold parties to engage our students! Halloween is my favorite celebration 🎃

What is your top piece of advice for students in the economics major?

TM: My top piece of advice for students is to try your best! I believe showing effort and asking questions can go a long way with professors to make sure they succeed well in courses.

What is one thing that you recommend students do while at UB?

TM: I recommend that students take advantage of events their departments hold because it can help with building connections and gaining needed information before graduation
