Senay Imre.

Senay Imre is a PhD student in Global Gender Studies, and is a firm advocate for women's empowerment.  Her research focuses on a comparative study of the social and political aspects of the "gender equality" versus the "gender justice" movements in her native Turkey.  She conducted considerable field research on violence against women in India and China, has undertaken research on women and LGBTI rights in Turkey and implemeted numerous projects on the local level to enhance women's political, economic and social empowerment.

Senay holds an MA in International Relations from the New School.
