Language is something you use every day. Linguistics helps you understand how it actually works. At the University at Buffalo, you study language from multiple angles, how sounds, words and meanings combine, and how language connects to culture, technology and human behavior. BA in Linguistics: A flexible program focused on how language works, with or without a concentration to specialize in a specific language.

BA in German: With or without an option to combine with linguistics.

- German language and linguistics
BS in AI and Language Technology: Study how language and artificial intelligence intersect, including hands-on work with language data and emerging technologies.
BS in AI and Language and Intercultural Competence: Combine language, culture and technology to prepare for global and interdisciplinary careers.
BA in Linguistics and EdM in English for Speakers of Other Languages: A combined program that prepares you to teach while earning both undergraduate and graduate degrees.
