Our studios support a wide range of projects, including:

  • Recording and Production – Learn to record live music and produce electronic tracks.
  • Electroacoustic Music – Blend electronic and acoustic elements for unique sonic experiences.
  • Real-Time Interactive Works – Compose music that responds to live performers.
  • Multimedia Projects – Combine music with visuals, dance, film, or interactive tech.

Our courses cover everything you need to start producing music and sound in inventive and creative ways:

  • Psychoacoustics and Acoustics – Learn how sound interacts with space and how we hear it.
  • Digital Signal Processing – Discover how to shape and transform audio signals.
  • Digital Audio Theory – Master the basics of recording, editing, and mixing.
  • Electronic Music History – Explore the roots and evolution of electronic music.

Our Spaces

B1 Slee Slee 110 B33 Recording Studio

Final Mix and Mastering Studio

Location: 110 Slee Hall

This studio is made for finishing projects and simulating surround sound environments.

Features:

  • iMac with ProTools and more
  • 9-channel Genelec system (configurable for 5.1, 8-channel, or stereo)
  • High-end B&W monitors for stereo mix checks

Students may present final projects in:

  • Baird 250 Auditorium (5.1 or 7.1 surround)
  • Lippes Concert Hall using Meyers 8.1 system
    (Note: Submission and selection required for June in Buffalo)
