BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Star 102.5, Mercedes Benz, and the Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo will present Tears For Fears at 8 p.m. on Oct 4 in the Mainstage theater in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.

Tears For Fears founders Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith are back together after 13 years, and will perform a special acoustic evening of their music in a "storyteller" format. Seating is limited. They are touring in support of their new CD "Everybody Loves A Happy Ending," which will be released on September 14.

In 1985, Tears For Fears delivered back-to-back hits with "Everybody Wants To Rule the World," "Shout," and "Head Over Heels" from the album "Songs from the Big Chair." The album spent 83 weeks on the U.S. charts. After the broad success of the album and the world tour that followed, Tears For Fears took a long recess. They returned in 1989 with the single, "Sowing The Seeds Of Love."

After Smith's departure in 1991 to pursue solo projects, a greatest hits collection was issued in 1992. Orzabal continued with Tears For Fears, releasing "Elemental" in 1993, and "Raoul and the Kings Of Spain" in 1995, the final album until now. Solo projects kept them busy until the time was right to reconvene Tears For Fears.

Free light food and refreshments will be available to ticket holders at 7 p.m.

Tickets for Tears For Fears are $35. Tickets are available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations, including Kaufmann's.
