BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo will hold Take Back the Night 2014, the annual program, rally and march to support survivors and speak out against partner violence, family violence and sexual violence, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in the Student Union theatre on the UB North Campus.

The keynote speaker will be Angela Rose, a sexual violence survivor and founder and executive director of PAVE: Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to shattering the silence of sexual violence through education and action.

Following her program, Take Back the Night participants will march from the Student Union to the Wilkeson Coffee House in the Ellicott Complex, where UB Campus Living staff will present additional programming and an opportunity to take the NoMore.org pledge to end the shame and stigma that is often felt by victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The event will conclude with an open mic and poetry slam at 9:30 p.m. in the Richmond Locked Lounge.

Take Back the Night 2014 is sponsored by UB’s Sub-Board I Inc. Health Education in partnership with Campus Living.
