Originally from Buffalo, New York, I am pursuing a double major in Health and Human Services/Community Mental Health and Psychology.
I chose this major because I learned about the excellent opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the field. I was very pleased to see that there was an internship component of the major. My participation in this program has definitely helped me to improve my professional skills and allowed me to see first-hand the field I hope to eventually enter. I plan to continue on to graduate school after I finish my undergraduate degree. I want to earn my PhD in Clinical Psychology.
My favorite class was Mood Disorders, which I took in junior year. The instructor’s style helped to make the subject material interesting and relevant. Due to the recent changes to the DSM-5 when we were taking the class, we were able to receive more updated information about the current classification of mood disorders in the field.
"And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie.
"Like Minds" directed by Gregory J. Read.
I enjoy performing improvisational theater as part of UB Improv on the campus. I also enjoy reading fiction novels and singing choral music.
Last year, I participated in a study abroad program at the University of Sussex in Brighton, United Kingdom. While there, I made friendships with students all around the world in Europe, Asia and Australia.
