Bio

Catherine Norgren – (Professor of Theatre): A member of United Scenic Artists, local 829, Cathy has designed costumes for: Actors Theatre of Louisville, Humana Festival of New American Plays; The Cleveland Playhouse; Theatre for Young Audiences at the Kennedy Center; the Alabama Shakespeare Festival; North Carolina Shakespeare Festival; the National Shakespeare Company; Indiana Repertory Theatre; Virginia Stage; Vermont Stage; Pennsylvania Center Stage; The Arden Theatre of Philadelphia; and the former Studio Arena Theatre in Buffalo. Cathy has been a guest designer at a number of universities.

She was active with the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for over 20 years, serving as Associate Producer of the Summer Intensives in Playwriting, and as National Chair.

Cathy teaches Design Resources and Costume Design for the department, and works with undergraduate designers assigned to departmental productions. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Mount Holyoke College, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
