Bio

Rebekah Bono is a dance instructor, performer, choreographer, and administrator currently pursuing her MFA in Dance at the University at Buffalo. Growing up in Virginia, she trained at Valley Dance Theatre and the Shenandoah Valley Governor’s School and holds a BA in dance from James Madison University.  For over a decade she has taught tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, contemporary, and ballet to students ages 1.5 to 75 in various studios, after school programs, university, workshop, and intensive settings in Virginia, New York City, and Buffalo serving as Lead Teacher at Cora Dance in Brooklyn, faculty member and co-director of VDTPC at Valley Dance Theatre and adjunct professor of dance at Mary Baldwin University. As a performer, Rebekah was a company member with both Soul Steps and Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance in New York City. She has managed various dance programs and produced multiple dance concerts in studios, afterschool programs, and collegiate settings. Her theatre dance choreography has been seen in productions of Guys and DollsFreaky Friday, and Mamma Mia. Since moving to Buffalo, Rebekah has presented works at UB, with the Buffalo Infringement Festival and has recently joined the faculty of Elite Dance Company. Rebekah aims to share the love of dance through education and performance with the University at Buffalo community!
