Congratulations to Associate Professor Ariel Nereson, PhD, on being awarded a Research Fellowship from the American Society for Theatre Research (ASTR) to help underwrite research expenses of scholars undertaking projects significant to the field of theatre and/or performance studies.

The department’s production of "Ride the Cyclone" was registered as an Associate Production in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Region 2 program. As such, it received a response on Friday evening.

After years of preparation and work, the Zodiaque Dance Company (ZDC) 50 Anniversary Fall concerts will finally take place this week at UB Center for the Arts, beginning Thursday, October 24! In keeping with ZDC’s mission, the fall program features a diverse array of dance styles, including modern, contemporary, jazz, African, tap, and other percussive forms. Congratulations to Urban Bush Women on the occasion of the dance company's 40th anniversary and accompanying cover story feature in this month's Dance Magazine.

“A Crack in the Egg” is a new rock musical written by senior UB Music Theatre major Jeremy Ephraim Meyers, with alumna John DellaContrada (‘24 Theatre BFA). Its official premiere won’t be until February 2025 as part of the 2024-2025 Theatre and Dance (THD) production season, but this Sunday, September 15, 2024 audiences can preview the show as a work-in-progress / staged reading at UB Katharine Cornell Theatre on North Campus beginning at 8pm.

UB Theatre and Dance (THD) students and graduates are in demand with professional theater companies in Buffalo and nationally. We are looking for one actor to join our UBTHD Fall Drama Production of Fabulation or, The Re-Education of Undine. We are excited to welcome another actor into our production, and look forward to meeting anyone who would like to audition! You DO NOT have to be a Theatre & Dance major to audition: you can be undergraduate or graduate, and you can have extensive experience or just want to try this out because it sounds interesting!

Congratulations to Associate Professor Ariel Nereson, PhD, on being named co-editor of Theatre Journal along with Laura Edmonson, professor of theatre at Dartmouth University. Published by Johns Hopkins University Press, the Journal celebrates its 75 anniversary this year, with seventy-five volumes and a total of 298 issues to date.
