Hello and Welcome to the UB Theatre and Dance Performance Auditions Page!
We are glad that you are here and are considering auditioning for one or more of the many productions that will be happening as a part of UB’s Theatre and Dance Spring ’24 Season! Auditions are open to ALL Current UB Students – (not just those in the Theatre and Dance Department!). These auditions may also be used for those who wish to apply for the BFA in Music Theatre or BFA in Theatre: Performance.

*These Callbacks will include a Dance Portion
All Callback Information will be distributed to the appropriate individuals following the preliminary auditions. This includes: who is called back, for which roles, when they are called, and any sides (a series of lines or parts of a scene from the play/musical, chosen by the Director) they should familiarize themselves with prior to the Callback.
Cast Lists for Mr. Burns: a post-electric play, Henry VI, Pt 2, and 9 to 5: The Musical will be posted on: Friday, December 8, 2023.
Proposed Cast Lists will be emailed to ALL of those who auditioned by the end of the night on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023. Those who have been cast will need to email me back to either accept or decline their roles. You will have 24 hours to do this, with finalized cast lists being determined by 11:59pm on Friday, Dec. 8, 2023. These finalized cast lists will be emailed back out to the group, if they differ from the proposed cast lists, and also posted on the Department of Theatre and Dance’s bulletin boards in the basement of the Center For the Arts.
Casting for SDS Productions The 39 Steps and The Odd Couple will be communicated by the Directors, individually.

- What monologue/song specifics to prepare for your auditions

2. Please see the Production Info Sheets below for more information on each production. Read them carefully and consider the schedules and content of the shows while deciding which ones you wish to audition for. Also please note that these Information Sheets include specifics regarding Understudy Requirements and Expectations, where applicable.
3. Sign-up for an Audition Appointment. All auditions will be in person, and take place on the dates and times listed above. Please reach out with any questions or conflicts regarding these audition dates. Please sign up for individual slots for all preliminary auditions below:

PLEASE NOTE: There is a Group Dance Call for ANYONE wishing to audition for 9 to 5 from 6pm to 7pm on Monday, December 4, 2023. This is part of your prelim audition: you need to plan to attend this dance call if you are auditioning for 9 to 5.
