We are glad that you are here and are considering auditioning for one or more of the many productions that will be happening as a part of UB’s Theatre and Dance Spring ‘26 Season! Auditions are open to ALL Current UB Students – (not just those in the Theatre and Dance Department!).

The 2 above SDS Productions will present as part of one production, with an intermission between one piece and the other. Pieces will likely rehearse separately, and then tech TOGETHER during the same week, leading up to the performances.

**Auditions for the Spring ‘26 TSE, Artist in the Loop: AI and the Ghosts of Spanish Poets, will ONLY be via Virtual, Video auditions. This requires a pre-recorded video submission, via the Box Link HERE PRIOR to Monday, Dec 1st at 6pm. No representative from the TSE production will be present in the rehearsal room over the course of Dec 1st – 2nd.

Callbacks for the THD Department Curricular Productions will be held on the following dates, for the following shows:

All Callback Information will be distributed to the appropriate individuals following the preliminary auditions. This includes: who is called back, for which roles, when they are called, and any sides (a series of lines or parts of a scene from the play/musical, chosen by the Director(s) and/or Choreographer) they should familiarize themselves with prior to the Callback.
For Artist in the Loop: AI and the Ghosts of Spanish Poets: There will be no callbacks. Casting will take place on Friday, 12/5, after Into the Woods and Macbeth have already been cast. Casting offers will then be sent out to auditionees for Artist in the Loop.
Cast Lists will be Posted & Emailed to all who Auditioned in Person no later than:

**Video Auditions for the TSE Casting may take longer to determine
Proposed Cast Lists for Macbeth and Into the Woods will be emailed to ALL of those who auditioned by the end of the night on Thursday, Dec 4, 2025. Those who have been cast will need to email me back to either accept or decline their roles. You will have 24 hours to do this, with finalized cast lists for Macbeth and Into the Woods being determined by 11:59pm on Friday, Dec 5, 2025. After the cast lists for Macbeth and Into the Woods have been finalized, the casting offers for Artist in the Loop will be emailed out, and those offered roles will also have 24 hours to either accept or decline their roles. Fully Finalized Casting must be completed by 9am on Monday, Dec 8, prior to SDS Auditions later that evening. All finalized cast lists will be emailed back out to the group, and also posted on the Department of Theatre and Dance’s bulletin boards in the basement of the Center for the Arts.
Once ALL casting has been finalized, full cast lists will be shared with the UBTHD Department at large.
Casting for SDS Productions Krapp’s Last Tape and In the End of Times will be communicated by the Directors, individually.

2. Please see the Production Info Sheets (linked above) for more information on each production. Read them carefully and consider the schedules and content of the shows while deciding which ones you wish to audition for. Also please note that these Information Sheets include specifics regarding Understudy Requirements and Expectations, where applicable.
3. Sign-up for an Audition Appointment. Macbeth and Into the Woods auditions will be in person, and take place on the dates and times listed above. Artist in the Loop Auditions will be via individual submitted video auditions. All SDS Auditions will be in person, 1 week after Curricular Auditions have started. Please reach out with any questions or conflicts regarding these audition dates. Please sign up for individual slots for all preliminary auditions below:

Please arrive at least 15 MINUTES prior to your audition slot. For instance, if you are scheduled for an 8:15pm Audition Slot, please arrive no later than 8pm.
· TSE (Curricular) Production of Artist in the Loop: AI and the Ghosts of Spanish Poets Virtual Auditions:
Submit a video recording via the Audition Materials Submission Link listed HERE, no later than Dec. 1, 2025 by 6pm. Information regarding WHAT you should prepare for your Virtual Audition can be found in the TSE production’s Info Sheet, linked above and also accessible on the UBTHD Audition Website. You MUST ALSO submit a current AAR (Academic Advisement Report) and completed Audition Form to the link provided, in order for your audition to be considered complete and valid.

***PLEASE NOTE: Your In-Person auditions will automatically mean that you will be considered for BOTH Macbeth and Into the Woods, however you will have room on your Audition Form to indicate any preference of production you may have.
If you would like to be considered for Artist in the Loop (TSE), please follow the VIRTUAL Audition Information as listed in the production’s Info Sheet.
4. Submit all Audition Materials, including: your AAR (for UBTHD Curricular Productions ONLY – NOT SDSs!!), your Audition Form, an updated Photo/Headshot, and any Supplemental Materials (Resume), to Links Below:

The deadline to submit these materials is
- Friday, Nov 28th by 11:59pm for Macbeth & Into the Woods
- Monday, Dec 1st by 6:00pm for Artist in the Loop
- Friday, Dec 5th by 11:59pm for SDS Productions
If you do NOT upload the necessary documentation by the specified date and time, your audition slot will be vacated for you by the administrator, or your audition materials considered incomplete.
