Minor in Biological Sciences

To qualify for the Minor in Biological Sciences, students complete a short list of required and elective courses within the department. There is also a special Biotechnology Minor available for chemical engineering students.

Minor Degree Program Summary

Required courses in biological sciences

  • BIO 200 Evolutionary Biology
  • BIO 201 Cell Biology
  • BIO 303 General Physiology
  • BIO 305 Fundamentals of Biological Chemistry
  • BIO 315 Fundamentals of Biological Chemistry Lab
  • 5 additional elective credits at the 300-400 level to reach 22 credit hours. Selection of electives should be made in consultation with the Departmental Advisor or one’s faculty advisor. May use BIO 498 (Undergrad Research) for 3 credits. May use BIO or cognate elective courses given in the BA menu list.
