Profs. Diana Aga and Luis Colón have developed a new method to detect PFAS chemicals using one method instead of multiple techniques to gain a comprehensive picture of different PFAS in the environment.
Alumnus Dr. Donald Pinto has been awarded the 2024 Carothers Award by the Delaware ACS. This award is presented annually by the Delaware Section to recognize scientific innovators who have made outstanding contributions and advances in industrial applications of chemistry.
A study led by Profs. Aga and Cook has been featured in NSF Highlights. The study presents a synthesis and evaluation of cationic porphyrin-based organic nanocages for the removal of PFAS, or 'forever chemicals', from water.
