This award was established in 2007 by Frederick J. Kogut, BA'60 & EDM'65 and his daughter, Nina F. Kogut-Akkum, in memory of Frederick's late brothers, Joseph W. Kogut, BA'66 and Kenneth P. Kogut, BA'64, both economics graduates.
Qualifications: Must be an undergraduate or graduate economics student engaged in activities beyond the required curriculum, related to the economic development of Africa and/or upstate New York, or any other activity related to the Peace Corps. As all three Kogut brothers played football, preference may be given to students who participate in collegiate athletics. Funds will not be applied to tuition, room or board. Requires one Faculty reference and one Faculty, Professional, or Academic reference.

This scholarship was established in 2010 by Mr. James and Mrs. Lynn Scarpati in memory of their son, Matthew Scarpati.
Qualifications: Must be an economics major in the College of Arts and Sciences with preference given to those who have completed their first year (29 units/credit hours) with a minimum 3.0 GPA and are U.S citizens or permanent residents. Requires a reference letter from a fellow student.
To be eligible, students must be actively enrolled in courses for spring 2027. All applications will be reviewed in December/January. Recipients will be announced in February 2027.
