For students majoring in another field but captivated by the earth's processes, the Geological Sciences Minor at UB is the perfect way to explore your interests. With just 26 credit hours of coursework, you can enhance your knowledge of geology while pursuing a different major.
This minor offers a broad foundation in geology, from natural hazards to climate change, providing insight into the dynamic forces that shape our planet. While attending Geology Field Camp is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended for hands-on experience and deeper engagement with the subject.
Students should apply after completing these introductory courses:
- Natural Hazards or Climate Change
- Natural Hazards and Climate Change Lab
To qualify, students must achieve:
- A C grade or better in the required introductory courses.
- An overall average of at least 2.0.
