The Department of Physics and Department of Electrical Engineering at University at Buffalo, the State University of New York presents a Meeting of the New York State Section of the American Physical Society, the 116th topical symposium. The theme of the symposium is "Materials for Renewable Energy".
The symposium features talks on the design and development of novel materials for renewable energy applications. The research topics range from photovoltaics, catalysis, membranes to nanogenerators and piezotronics, encompassing materials synthesis, characterization, device fabrication and theory. Speakers come from several distinguished institutions.
Prof. Zhong Lin Wang from the Georgia Institute of Technology will deliver a keynote address. Other meeting activities include a poster session with contributions from students and postdocs. We especially encourage undergraduates to attend and submit posters of their work.
This event is sponsored in part by UB's Department of Physics, Department of Electrical Engineering, the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the UB RENEW Institute.
