Seminar to Explore the 'Art of the Elevator Speech'

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo School of Management Alumni Association (SOMAA) will host an interactive seminar, "The Art of the Elevator Speech," at 5:30 p.m. on March 17 in the Millennium Airport Hotel in Cheektowaga.

The personal branding program will explore the concept of an elevator speech -- a short description of what a person does, presented in the time it takes an elevator to go from the first to the top floor.

Presenters Mitch Flynn and Marc Adler of Flynn & Friends Advertising will describe how this valuable marketing technique can be used to grab a client's attention and present a core message in a concise way.

Participants will have the opportunity to write their own elevator speeches and have them critiqued.

The event is part of the School of Management Alumni Association's "Smart Business Practices" series.

Light refreshments which will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the program will run from 6-8 p.m.

The registration fee is $30 for SOMAA members, $35 for nonprofit representatives and $40 for others who are not members of SOMAA. Reservations are required and must be made by March 12 at 716-645-3224.
