“Graduate school at UB's Department of Psychology was an extremely enriching and well-rounded experience! The coursework provided knowledge in a range of topic areas, and my clinical training gave me the applied skills to treat psychological disorders. The research training was top-notch; I learned so much through participation in my mentor's lab and the requirements to complete my own research projects. My training at UB in how to conduct research that can have a real impact and that is both methodologically rigorous and ethically sound was invaluable. I was especially pleased to obtain hands on experience in grant writing, by preparing and submitting a National Service Research Award to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, which ultimately funded my dissertation work.” – Jennifer Merrill
