“My UB psychology degree prepared me very well to pursue advanced study in a school psychology PhD program. The structure of the Psychology Honors Program helped to strengthen my understanding of the scientific method and the research process. It also helped me to improve my writing skills, which was a critically important skill for graduate school. With the fast-paced, rigorous structure of my doctoral program, there was not much opportunity for review or practice of research skills. Therefore, success in my doctoral program was in large part due to the excellent foundational skills from UB that I entered graduate school with.” – Olivia Schlager
