The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University at Buffalo is grateful for the continued support of our alumni, parents and friends. Your generosity helps students explore languages and cultures, gain global experience and develop the cultural understanding needed to thrive in an interconnected world.
Many RLL students experience their first international travel through study abroad programs made possible by donor support.
Private support helps the department:
Gifts of any size help ensure that students have access to experiences that shape their academic and professional journeys.
This flexible fund allows the department to respond to emerging needs, expand student opportunities and support high-impact initiatives across our language programs. Gifts to this fund directly support study abroad access, student programming and academic innovation.
Donors may also choose to support specific funds that reflect their interests and values.
Donations to the Linda D. Rock Memorial Fund support undergraduate students in French, Italian or Spanish to experience study abroad.
Donations to the Maria E. Becker Memorial Fund support undergraduate students in French to experience study abroad.
Donations to the French Language Program Fund support undergraduate student scholarships for study abroad, program activities and special cultural outreach events.
Donations to the Italian Language Program Fund support undergraduate student scholarships for study abroad, program activities and special cultural outreach events.
Donations to the Spanish Language Program Fund support undergraduate student scholarships for study abroad, program activities and special cultural outreach events.
Donations to the Edward J. Dudley Memorial Award support graduate students who wish to broaden their studies with international experience.
If you are interested in learning more about giving opportunities or supporting a specific language program, we welcome the conversation.
Together, we can continue to expand global learning and support the next generation of multilingual leaders.
