The UB Department of Art has a long history of giving art students the opportunity to exhibit their work while in school. Consistently since 1994 when the Center for the Arts opened to the public, the Lower Gallery (Room B45) has been used to display the work of Art students, faculty and staff, and alumni, while at times incorporating curatorial opportunities for students. The Project Space gallery (Room 155), was conceived and constructed in the mid 2010s, providing students with a quick-turnaround-time exhibition space for experiments in installation, performance, and curation.
Exhibition opportunities off-campus have also been prevalent in the undergraduate, and graduate programs.
This archive page, started in 2024, is a work in progress, focusing on documenting future exhibitions within the Department, and exploring and sharing documentation from the past.
