How will this scholarship impact your life?

“This scholarship affords me more time, an asset that is extremely crucial and finite at my current state. As mentioned previously, I’m working on developing my next couple of moves to optimally position myself closer to a career in policy work. By taking away one major concern to my short term education, I can spend more time developing my resume and personal statement, research internships/summer programs that help me figure out where exactly in the policy field I want to end up in, as well as figure out the best way to make these things happen.”

How will this scholarship impact your life?

“I am honored to be the recipient of this scholarship, and plan on using them to pay for graduate school. The lessening of a financial burden has calmed some financial concern of mine. This will allow me to better focus on my studies, and continue my education at the graduate level. My parents and I were a little short on the funds for this coming year, so I can incredibly thankful and grateful for this generous scholarship, as I will be able to continue my education without financial stress. Further, this scholarship has served as a reinforcer and motivator for me to continue my hard work, and push the limits of what I can do. Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to the Kogut brothers, as without them this scholarship would not be possible. I am incredibly grateful to be a recipient, and hope to live up to both the Kogut families generosity and values in my lifetime.”

How will this scholarship impact your life?

“Getting this award is a step further towards achieving my goals. As a graduate student in economics one of my plans before or post-graduation is to have written and completed papers and publications related to topics in economics that would serve as a useful article or reference to other economic students, professionals and even international organizations and industry. To bring this dream to life would costs a whole lot of funds for data gathering and collections, paper publications, conferences and so on. However, as a college students with personal school expenses such as tuition, books and living costs it became challenging for me to raise additional money needed to achieve my goals.

Therefore, getting this award will provide me the support needed to start and complete my research and publications. Also with this award, I will be able to support my economic foundation in Nigeria called (N.A.F) by providing them with materials and supplies needed to improve social welfare of less privileged.”

How will this scholarship impact your life?

“As it stands, I work two jobs to afford my tuition and living expenses, on top of my courseload this spring. I also serve as an undergraduate teaching assistant, student ambassador, and as secretary of UB Vegans. Receiving this scholarship will allow me the opportunity to further pursue my academic goals this semester and beyond. Recently, I received an offer to participate in a summer program at the London School of Economics, and I’m hoping to use this scholarship primarily towards that.”
