Dr. Castro is a recipient of UB’s Exceptional Scholar: Young Investigator Award

Dr. Nichol Castro is a recipient of UB’s Exceptional Scholar: Young Investigator Award. This award celebrates the exceptional scholarship of tenure-track faculty, either through a single piece of scholarship that is universally acclaimed or through a sustained record of endeavors.

Since joining UB as an Assistant Professor in 2020, Dr. Castro has established a productive research program on word retrieval in aphasia, including publishing 24 peer-reviewed journal articles in top-tier venues and delivering 27 conference platform and poster presentations.

Her work includes many collaborations, including with graduate and undergraduate students at UB and beyond.
