Department of Global Gender and Sexuality Studies

Global Gender and Sexuality Studies hosted a tour at Albright Knox Art Gallery of the exhibit 'We Wanted a Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965-85.

The Department of Global Gender and Sexuality Studies promotes critical thinking and understanding of today's diverse, multicultural world through research and teaching on feminism, women, gender and sexuality. Originally formed in 1972, we are one of the first women’s studies programs in the United States.

Experiential Learning

Our department’s experiential learning opportunities provide students with the chance to deepen their understanding of the world beyond the classroom.

  • Serve as an undergraduate teaching assistant
  • Gain first-hand experience in research while under the supervision of a faculty member
  • Hone your skills at an internship in the Buffalo area or elsewhere

Career-Focused

Employers need people who can think, write and solve problems. Our students stand out among their peers for their ability to see connections and to integrate commitments to inclusion and justice in their work. We prepare students for jobs in government, community service, national and international organizations or graduate-level education.
