The Department of Global Gender and Sexuality Studies promotes critical thinking and understanding of today's diverse, multicultural world through research and teaching on feminism, women, gender and sexuality. Originally formed in 1972, we are one of the first women’s studies programs in the United States.
Our department’s experiential learning opportunities provide students with the chance to deepen their understanding of the world beyond the classroom.
Employers need people who can think, write and solve problems. Our students stand out among their peers for their ability to see connections and to integrate commitments to inclusion and justice in their work. We prepare students for jobs in government, community service, national and international organizations or graduate-level education.
