We are proud of the talent, creativity and work ethic of our students. Learn more about why some of our current students think the UB Department of Music is a great place to pursue world-class musical education.
The College Ambassadors are outstanding students nominated by their department to represent the department at campus and community events.
"I chose to study music because it challenges me in ways that inspire me to learn more instead of giving up. Music didn’t come easy to me, but it was all the things I didn’t understand that made me want to learn more. Since joining the music department at UB, I’ve had the pleasure of involving myself with all different kinds of musicians. I sing with the St. John’s Grace church choir, am the vice president of UB’s Musician’s Club, and sing in a rock band. After completing my Bachelor’s, I plan on continuing my education through a Masters degree in vocal performance, with the hopes that I can keep music at the forefront of my life and further expand my knowledge with each day.".
"Music has been such a significant part of my life and has helped shape me into the person I am today. By being involved with my community, I’ve seen that music can bring people together and help provide an emotional outlet for everyone as well. Seeing this has made me realize that I want to accomplish these same things with my voice. After I finish my undergraduate studies, I would like to continue to develop my voice by pursuing a Masters in Vocal Performance! Outside of school, I also sing with Westminster Presbyterian Church Choir, Incipio, and St. Luke’s Lutheran Chorale. Occasionally, I play violin for my Vietnamese community as well."
