Micro-credential requirements

  • Eligibility: Open to all majors and UB and non-UB students with a minimum overall GPA of 2.0.
  • Credit Hours: 8–10 total.

Required courses (6 credits)

  • MUS 301 – Sound Recording and Production 1 (3 credits)
    Offered in Fall and Spring.
  • MUS 302 – Sound Recording and Production 2 (3 credits)
    Offered in Spring.

Elective course (2–4 credits)

  • Choose one of the following:
  • MUS 400/407 – Composition (4 credits)
  • MUS 496 – Music Internship (2-4 credits)
  • MUS 499 – Independent Study in Sound Recording/Production (2-4 credits)

Final project

Create a polished recording or original work in consultation with faculty. Projects may include:

  • A department recital recording
  • A podcast or local concert recording
  • A studio session
