Research Summary

Current research centers on the physiology and evolutionary biology of salt and water balance in aquatic vertebrates. Specifically, laboratory projects explore the molecular physiology and evolution of the extracellular calcium-sensing receptor, endocrine mechanisms mediating adaptive changes in drinking and alimentary tract function, and the biophysics of epithelial ion transport in the fishes.
