UB receives NSF grant for AI Institute; Dr. Hendricks is the Validation of Impacts Lead

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded UB a $20 million grant to fund the National AI Institute for Exceptional Education, led by the University at Buffalo and in collaboration with 8 other institutions. 

The grant will develop two advanced AI solutions to address early identification of children with speech and/or language impairments and to serve as virtual teaching assistants to support students with ability-based interventions.

Dr. Alison Hendricks, Assistant Professor in the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders, is a key investigator on this grant.
