    Once a faculty member has decided to submit an application to an external sponsor, applications for external support of research and creative activities must typically be routed through the Sponsored Projects Services (SPS) Office. This process involves several steps for both the Principal Investigator (PI) and SPS which are outlined below.

Research and Sponsored Projects Office

The College of Arts and Sciences Research and Sponsored Projects Office helps faculty pursue funding and advance research, scholarship and creative activity. Working with UB's Sponsored Projects Services and Office of Research Advancement, we provide guidance, training and administrative support throughout the funding process.

Our team helps faculty identify funding opportunities, prepare proposals, secure support for facilities and equipment and build collaborative research teams. We also manage College-specific funding programs that encourage new research and creative projects.
