  • General Music Minor

    Perfect for students in any major who want to explore music and expand their creative toolkit. Build a foundation in music theory and history, then personalize your path with electives in composition, electronic music or music production. You'll also gain performance experience through active participation in UB ensembles.
  • Music Performance Minor

    For students who want to keep performing while deepening their academic understanding of music. Strengthen your theory and history background while studying one-on-one with UB’s performance faculty. Perform regularly with Department of Music ensembles.
  • Jazz Performance Minor

    Live, breathe and play jazz—no matter what you’re majoring in. This minor is designed for students who want to keep jazz in their lives while exploring other academic interests. Learn from UB’s Grammy-winning jazz faculty and perform in groups that connect you to the larger Buffalo jazz scene.

    Turn up the volume on your creativity. If you're passionate about music, media or sound design, this minor gives you the technical skills and creative tools to bring your ideas to life. Whether you're tracking vocals in the studio, designing audio for video or mixing live performances, you'll learn how to shape sound in ways that move people.
