UB Teach French education is an accelerated five-year program that combines a Bachelor of Arts in French with a Master of Education in French Adolescence Education. Students develop advanced language proficiency and cultural expertise while gaining extensive classroom experience that prepares them to teach French in grades 7–12, with an extension for grades 1–6.

This program is designed for students who want to remain deeply engaged with language, literature and culture while preparing to inspire the next generation of learners.

How the combined degree works

The BA / EdM pathway allows students to complete both undergraduate and graduate degrees in five years through an integrated program of language study and teacher preparation.

Students first focus on French language, literature and cultural study while completing introductory education coursework. In later years, students move into graduate-level teaching methods courses and supervised classroom experiences.

This structure ensures that students graduate with both strong disciplinary knowledge and professional teaching expertise.
