Financial Aid and Scholarships

Find support for your academic journey

A college education is an important investment, and students should not have to figure it out alone. At the University at Buffalo, tuition and fees remain competitive, and students in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures can explore financial aid, scholarships and fellowships that support learning at UB and beyond.

Why explore funding early?

Financial support can do more than lower costs. It can give you more freedom to focus on learning, research and the opportunities that shape your future.

Students often use awards and scholarships to:

  • support research during the academic year
  • focus on coursework and build strong relationships with faculty mentors
  • strengthen graduate or professional school applications
  • join a community of high-achieving students across UB

Starting early also gives students and families more time to compare options, meet deadlines and build a stronger plan.

Department support for study abroad

RLL accepts applications for named scholarships that support study abroad for majors and minors. These awards help students pursue language learning and cultural immersion in places where the language is spoken and lived.
