Sociology

What is Sociology?

Sociologists examine how membership in different groups, and interactions with social structures and social institutions, affects a person's daily life. The Department of Sociology trains students to analyze a wide variety of social issues, such as family, gender, race and class, while mastering the technical tools, critical thinking abilities and global perspective necessary to succeed in our rapidly-evolving society.
