A minor in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) is an excellent complement to majors such as Economics, Political Science, Law, Geography, Sociology, Criminology or Philosophy. This interdisciplinary program is ideal for students interested in careers in law, the social sciences, politics or business. The PPE minor provides a flexible way to explore the political, economic and philosophical dimensions of the world around us.

Required Courses

The PPE minor requires students to complete 21 credit hours (7 courses). Each course typically carries three (3) credits.

Core Courses (12–13 credits)

Students must complete the following core courses:

  • PHI 185: Model-Based Reasoning
  • PHI 342: Political Philosophy
  • ECO 405: Microeconomic Theory I or ECO 182: Introduction to Microeconomics
  • PSC 314: Public Policy Making or PSC 315: American Political Economy

Transfer Credit Policy
