Undergraduate Student Support Team

Team Description

The undergraduate student support team will support the following goals; improve the student experience and ultimately retention, by assisting them across related majors and not within the context of just one; provide services the way students want to receive them and not how we have traditionally delivered them by leveraging technology and communication strategies, improve consistency of messaging through tactical coordination with CAS Advising Services and 1Capen. 

Serve as the overall administrative assistant to the Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) in which incumbent assists in the day-to-day and programmatic undergraduate teaching mission. Exam preparation, course force registration, changing major paperwork, interpretation of AAR reports, submit curriculum exceptions, petition and transfer articulation requests, recruitment efforts (preparation of booklets/brochures for prospective students).

  • Serve as the point of contact to undergraduate students who have questions or need assistance/referrals. Act as the in-house liaison among the DUS, Undergraduate Affairs Committee, faculty, current/prospective students and relevant University offices.
  • Compile and maintain current and prospective undergraduate student files in consultation with student advisors. Initiate spreadsheets and databases for student grades, honors records and reports. Work with department advisors on scheduling appointments, preparing student data for appointments, processing of accepted applications.
  • Assist with department events including; open house, accepted student’s day, honors symposium, undergraduate convocation ceremony, awards ceremony (may include processing awards and notifying students).
  • Assist in preparing annual reports, self-studies, and external reviews for the department.
