AI algorithms for behavioral analysis; video, audio and wearable devices; autism; neurodevelopmental conditions
I have devoted most of the last 15 years to studying autism and am deeply committed to research that will improve the diagnosis, intervention and well-being of autistic individuals and their families. My current research focuses on developing AI-enabled digital phenotyping techniques for studying behavior and neurophysiology in children with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions. This involves the use of digital devices and sensors that can record behavior, physiology and neurophysiology remotely from participants as they go about their daily lives. In the lab we analyze eye tracking, EEG, video and audio, wearable device, tablet and cell phone data using AI-enabled techniques to learn about behavior and how it changes during childhood development.
