María E. Rivera-Albarrán, PhD graduate of Prof. Ray's group

•  First author publication in the Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry
• Patent application on Microwave enhanced enzymatic reactor for proteomics by mass spectrometry

My research focuses in studying the potential applications and capabilities of microwave heating in diverse analytical applications. By implementing systems specifically designed for focused-microwave fields we can greatly accelerate biochemical reactions and, also, expand the capabilities of ionization in mass spectrometry.

Being a graduate student at UB has not only allowed me to grow as a scientist thanks to the outstanding mentoring of faculty, but also exposed me to an amazing and collaborative multicultural and engaging atmosphere.

Outside of the lab, I enjoy baking all sort of desserts, painting, and hanging out with friends.
