Zainab Khoder, 4th-year PhD student in Prof. Chemler's group
"My research focuses on an alkene difunctionalization reaction using a copper(II) salt as an earth abundant and relatively less toxic metal catalyst. Using mild conditions, we were able to synthesize isoxazolidine rings in high yields and high diastereoselectivities.
I enjoy being a graduate student at UB where I am surrounded by intelligent and professional faculty. Being a member of the Chemler group gave me the opportunity to learn a lot and enhance my laboratory and research skills.
Outside the lab, I enjoy playing with my kids and spending time with my family."
