Please join Michael Spears this coming Sunday, September 22, at approximately 6:25pm for Communion: An Elegy, a ritual performance honoring the lives of the 19 black transgender women lost to hate-fueled violence in 2019 and thanking the spaces that hold and restore us.
The performance will take place at Ellicott Creek in Tonawanda. *Please be advised that getting to the site will require walking approximately a quarter of a mile from parking* Attendants are welcome to park at the Sweet Home Center at 33 Dodge Road, Getzville, NY. From there, walk to the sign for the Amherst Recreational Area (by the Creek) and turn left along the bike/walking path that runs parallel to the Creek. You will pass under two car bridges and come to a small pedestrian bridge where the performance will be held. The performance will last around 40 minutes.
